Our translators
We combine technical excellence with linguistic precision!
Our translators
We have a host of professional translators, terminologists, interpreters and linguists at the ready; only those who meet the strictest quality criteria are able to join our ranks. This global network allows us to process your specific projects reliably and efficiently.
We only take on partners who work in their respective native languages, boast many years of experience in the field, and have a professional qualification underpinning their work. By setting the bar high, we have been able to build a strong and highly skilled team of native-speaker translators. Our CEO is personally responsible for sourcing new colleagues and fostering excellent relationships with existing ones in order to keep this network healthy and thriving.
A translator or proofreader must meet the following criteria in order to be accepted into our pool of linguists:
The native speaker principle
All our translators work exclusively in their own language.
Even when you have an excellent command of several languages, your mother tongue is always the one you feel most at home in. It is the only language in which you have the flexibility and dexterity, flair and intuition to deliver a professional and idiomatic translation.
Technical expertise
These days, we don’t translate from one page to another like we did 20 years ago. One of the most important pillars of a professional translation is a mastery of the latest translation technologies. This is the only way to incorporate your linguistic specifications (terminology and country-specific information) and to remain attractively priced. Therefore, a good understanding of technology and the application of cutting-edge translation technologies are essential tools in the belt of any good translator or project manager.
Reliability
In the translation industry, reliability is everything. Most assignments are either urgent or have very ambitious deadlines. You simply can’t afford to slip up. We have worked with most of our translators for several years, so we know their schedules and how much work they can accept at any given time ‒ this enables us to guarantee absolute reliability and, in turn, happy customers.
Experience
In certain languages, particularly the ones that are seen as “exotic”, courses in translation are sadly not yet offered. In cases like this, we assess our translators’ experience when making our selections. They must be able to demonstrate at least five years of relevant experience in the translation field to be accepted as one of our linguists.
Education
Not everyone who is proficient in several languages is able to translate well. Good translators stand out not only for their ability to turn a phrase, but also for their understanding of cultural norms and contexts. They are also able to master the required technical know-how. This is one of the reasons we attach such great importance to ensuring that almost all our translators have solid academic credentials.
Further training
In such a rapidly evolving industry as translation, so-called “lifelong learning” is essential for continuing to produce high-quality translations as the world marches on. This is why we like to make sure that our linguists can stay up-to-date with all the latest technologies and practices in the translation world.
